Pilot Episode

Never have I ever considered blogging.

It is in my desperation to find affordable therapy, online resources, a lifeline of some sort, that I find
myself creating a blog for myself. A space where I can work out things mentally in an "artistic" way
and hopefully help a couple of people make sense of their own paths.

In my early twenties, I was more vocal on my social media platforms about trials I was facing. I shared the good parts of my life right along with the bad. During that time, I cultivated a small community of individuals who felt heard by the topics I was transparent about and the emotions I was able to put to words. In my darkest time, I was able to cultivate a light within myself that drew lost and weary souls near. It is my hope that this blog act as a light of sorts for the same purpose; if you found me, welcome home.
While most view social media as a blessing or this great technological feat, as a 90s kid, I find it's more of a dystopian nightmare. I find myself losing time, losing synapses, losing my sense of direction because I am simultaneously watching millions of people walk in every kind of direction imaginable. Pair this with undiagnosed mental issues and we have a nice cocktail for a short drop and a sudden stop. The human experience is multifaceted and I know the facets I find myself focusing on or comparing myself to are not all there is to this life. It quite literally is whatever I choose to make of it and I need to focus on what I want that to look like. This page will act as my accountability partner, so to speak.

If there is one thing I want to expound upon in this first post, it is that:
"While we are experiencing the world alone, we are not the only person experiencing the world alone." The loneliness of the human condition is what connects us and the love we have within radiates when we can bridge our experiences with others. Sharing your story DOES make a difference. We have no idea who will find pieces of themselves within our experience. You are the only person who is walking the path you were thrust upon. Your creativity for navigating this path and the morsels of wisdom you have collected along the way may light the darkness in another's life.  Have you ever been going through something and once you finally reached out to someone, you found they too were going through something similar or their own battle? I believe the patterns and occurrences in my life are often ripples from the currents of those surrounding me. It is not just about us here, regardless of how American society wants to push that narrative. We are social creatures, community based at our core. By sharing the life lessons you have learned and helping those you might be surrounded by, you will tap into the lifeforce that connects all of us.
I hope you find the courage to start telling your story.
